It’s Vacation Season!

Do your goals take vacations?

While everyone’s mentally checked out this week, I wanted to share something important:

Your goals don’t take vacations.

That doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy summer. But it does mean the people who stay consistent during ‘dead weeks’ are the ones who see results year-round.

As part of our coaching service, if people request workouts for their vacations, we are happy to oblige.  However, it is not something we push.  It is your vacation to use as you wish.  Some people just enjoy maintaining their routine – it helps them feel better mentally and physically.

One of our clients recently vacationed with her family and prior to leaving, she asked for some workouts adapted to the hotel gym environment and we provided them for her.

In her first session back yesterday, she had this to say:

  • “I didn’t always feel like getting them done, but when I did them, I felt so much better.”  She also did a lot of walking.
  • “I enjoyed eating whatever I wanted.  I ate till I was full and gave away anything that I was no longer hungry for.”
  • “I came back from vacation and didn’t gain a pound!”

Friendly reminders:

  • There is no one right way to approach it – just the one that works for you.  For some, a vacation workout plan is a great strategy, others benefit from the break.  There is also no “all-or-nothing” approach.  For example, whereas I may typically enjoy 5 workouts per week, getting in even 3 makes my heart happy.
  • You can still be mindful of hunger and fullness cues while still enjoying your favorite foods.
  • It’s fair to not expect to have lost weight while on vacation, but maintaining is an awesome result!

Your goals matter to us and we are here to support you!

There are just over 6 weeks left of the summer.  That’s A LOT of time to take those first steps to get the ball rolling on your goals.
