You read that right, I, Coach Candice, joined Planet Fitness.  I did my first workout there in YEARS yesterday.

This has honestly been on my mind for over a year now, but I just haven’t been able to make it work in my schedule. I am excited to say that I was finally able to make it happen and couldn’t be more excited!

Here’s a little backstory behind my decision to join Planet Fitness:

For one, it is my core mission to help as many people improve their health and well-being through fitness and nutrition. It’s always on my mind to find ways how perhaps I could help just one more person. At the same time, I recognize that not everyone has the financial means to be able to afford a fully individualized program provided by myself and/or my coaches. By far many more people have access to lower-cost gyms such as Planet Fitness, Crunch, Anytime Fitness, etc.

Those lower-cost access-focused gyms come with a trade-off though. A person has access to a lot of equipment; however, they just don’t know what they can do or should do with it. Left to their own devices, a person often gravitates more to the cardio equipment because it’s easier to figure out. 

While activity such as walking, biking, etc is helpful to improving one’s health, strength training is an important aspect of true wellness in coordination with cardio.

I truly believe someone can get pretty healthy at Planet Fitness. Many just don’t know what to do or where to start.  I am here to help fill the gap for people.  

With my commercial gym program (for use in places like I described above), I help people walk in with a plan. This helps you be more efficient with your time because there is no wandering around wondering what to do. Your plan for the day is already laid out for you.  

With three (3) days per week of programming available to the user, they now have a more balanced approach to their workout time.  Taking into consideration that the person has less than an hour to workout, a full-body resistance program is provided to make smart use of the person’s time while also helping them get in an effective workout.

Through the use of our programming software, CoachRx, the client has a means of tracking their progress and recording their results. More than an app, this program connects directly to a Coach, presently, Coach Candice! Have a question about a workout – ask Coach Candice! Want access to additional resources to support your goals? There are plenty of uploaded documents in CoachRx for the client to take advantage of.

While Planet Fitness and other places have a reputation for just taking your money month-to-month because people sign up and don’t use it…I want to flip the script on that. Given a guide and resources, a person can get very fit in a place like that and I want to help people do just that.  

I have started to beta-test my program and it’s available to those interested at an introductory price while I refine the processes associated with it.  At the time of the writing of this blog, I have 4 people who have signed up and started. I have room for 6 more before I raise the price a little as it goes through the second stage of refinement. 

I’m excited to be at Planet Fitness once a week to not only explore other machines I haven’t had the opportunity to experience in current or previous gym settings but have always wanted to learn more about. In addition, I want to experience that setting more to help provide the best program and service to those who utilize Achieve Wellness & Fitness to improve their fitness, which then leads to a greater quality of life.
