The answer isn’t always to add more workouts

Work Smarter, Not Harder

Many times, when people are falling short of their goals, they automatically believe they need to workout more.

More often than not, that is not the case.

Instead, I often encourage folks to dial in other aspects of their life first.

In a recent YouTube video, I touched upon 5 main areas I recommend people strive to improve before they utilize an extra workout as the primary solution to their halted progress.

Of course, if one has found an enjoyment for exercise, and the extra time at the gym won’t compromise your ability to improve or damper your ability to do well in one of the 5 areas I spoke about, then by all means, add in another workout!

However, if extra time at the gym means you get less sleep, or your stress is at an all time high, then it’s not likely that an extra workout is going to positively move the needle for you.

I believe your time would be better spent:

  • preparing some healthier meals at home
  • perhaps planning better for improved hydration day-to-day
  • going for a walk
  • setting yourself up for a better night’s sleep
  • engaging in some form of stress management

Yes, the gym is important and a valuable and essential component to accomplishing your goals, but it isn’t the primary solution.

I say that as a gym owner that values your overall health, not just how much you can lift in the gym.

In closing, I encourage you to engage in improving in even any one of those 5 areas, and it’s very likely that you will see progress towards your goals.
