Maybe this is you.
You belong to a franchise gym like Planet Fitness or Crunch or another local access-type gym like Danko’s or the Odyssey. (Nothing wrong with that – they are wonderful places in their own right!)
You had decided to carve out some time in your life to belong and start working on your health and fitness. Except, now you walk in and you aren’t sure what to do and how much of it to do. Maybe you float from machine to machine doing a little bit of this and a little bit of that. Some days, maybe for the sake of mental energy, you just hop on a piece of cardio equipment because it’s easier than having to figure out everything else and at least you came in and did something.
Maybe you have been showing up at this place for weeks and months and putting in work, but just can’t seem to feel like you have the results to show for it.
Or, you have some wonderful gym equipment at home. You invested in a variety of dumbbells, maybe even have a bench and a bar, maybe even a “home gym” that has a variety of cable attachments.
You now have the time to go into your home gym and workout and you stand there not knowing what to do or where to start.
Or, maybe you have a specific goal and want to expedite your progress and get there faster.
These are just the circumstances where it could be quite helpful to be working with someone who can coach and guide you remotely.
Not to mention, it is mentally freeing to be able to just show up and have a guide for what to do because someone has already laid out what you are going to do for the day. I am a remote coaching client myself and that is probably my favorite part!
While technology can be frustrating at times, this is one of those circumstances where it can be extremely beneficial. You get to access some of the greatest minds even though they are nowhere near you.
I’ve been a remote coaching client myself since September 2019. Even with a whole gym, I still deal with many of the sentiments I described above.
I’ll share with you a little more about that tomorrow.
I don’t want to leave you with nothing though today. I filmed a video the other day about the importance of developing a learning mindset, and you can check that out here.
