If you’re looking for another reason you shouldn’t put off improving your health and fitness till January 1st, here it is.
I checked in with one of my Personal Training clients who has been with us for just over two months. Here is what she has accomplished:
- down 11.7 pounds
- 9 pounds of her loss is actual body fat
- her visceral fat (fat around organs and/or in her abdominal area) score went from 28 to 27 (goal is 10 or below)
- her body fat percentage went from 52.8 to 51.5 (down 1.3%)

Those are just some objective numbers; however, there is so much subjective progress as well
- she moves better and is getting progressively stronger in her workouts
- she reports having better endurance in her daily work where she is on her feet throughout the day
- her mental mindset has shifted to be more positive
- people are noticing the difference in her
How is she doing it?
- 2 30-minute 1:1 Personal Training sessions per week
- Focusing on strength training with some cardio
- Prioritizing walking in her time outside of the gym
- Focusing on making better choices more often
- Prioritizing protein
- Doing meal prep more often
Simple, non-flashy things done consistently over the past approximate 10 weeks. If you break it down, she lost on average just over 1 pound per week. It may not seem like much in the moment, but it adds up!
We have 9 weeks left in the year. With appropriate efforts, that can be you as well!
