Today, I have some Wednesday Wisdom for you. Actually, it’s part Wednesday Wisdom and part Tough Love Tuesday.
Here’s the thing: you can’t expect to do the same thing and expect different results. Disappointing, I know.
Someone has a desire for toned, defined arms or a shapely butt…yet they plow away endlessly on the treadmill.
Someone wants to work on losing some weight, but they don’t put some time and effort into making their own lunch for work instead of buying it.
Someone wants to improve their health, but they won’t take even just a few minutes a day to track their nutrition to learn a little bit more about what they are eating so they could make more informed decisions.
Someone is struggling with consistency in the gym or making progress towards their goals, but they won’t work with a Coach.
Someone really wants to lose body fat, but they won’t stop trying that 1200 calorie diet or won’t lift weights.
One of my favorites quotes, and I often have to apply it to myself too in a myriad of ways is: “the results we are looking for are on the other side of doing the things we don’t want to do.”
My encouragement to you: carefully evaluate and do some self-reflection on that habit that you just refuse to give up or the reason you just won’t change how you’ve continued to do things. Perhaps it’s a simple fix. Perhaps it’s needing to seek out the help of a professional–and that’s OK. One of the most courageous steps one can take is asking for help.
I know personally, the times I have reached out for help when I am stuck have often helped me achieve a sense of relief and have helped me get un-stuck.
It may not always be easy, but it’s worth it.
What pattern do you feel stuck with?
Maybe we can help : )
