People think that losing weight or improving their fitness or making any other significant change starts with having the perfect program.
That’s actually not true.
It starts with belief.
I don’t know if the perfect program exists out there because humans are each faced with their own individual challenges, but for the sake of argument, let’s say it does.
One can have the perfect program, but if you don’t believe in yourself to be able to do something, then it’s likely not to work.
When seeking self-improvement in some way, while working on the tangible things such as tracking what you eat, lifting for a certain amount of sets and reps, don’t forget to work on the intangible: your mind.
Move from:
- “I’ll never understand this” to “I’ll figure this out.”
- “I’ll never be able to do this” to “I can’t do this yet.”
- “I keep failing” to “I keep learning.”
Every time we we fall short – that is an opportunity to learn.
A quote from basketball legend Kobe Bryant: “there’s no such thing as failure.”
The most successful people, in whatever discipline it was, have failed!
However, too many people, when on their health or fitness journey, they fall short one, two, five, twenty times, and they throw their hands up in the air and say it can’t be done!
Many, if not all of us, are familiar with the story of Thomas Edison who when inventing the light bulb, conducted thousands of experiments. Imagine if he gave up after the 100th failure? You probably wouldn’t be reading this on your little screen today.
In closing, my encouragement for you: don’t give up. Use every shortcoming, every mistake, as an opportunity to learn and make adjustments. You might stumble on many things that don’t work to eventually find the thing that does.
After all, it’s your health. It’s worth pursuing the best for it.
You can do it.
I believe in you.
Sincerely,
Your friend in wellness and fitness,
Coach Candice
