She recently celebrated her 72nd birthday with a quick weekend trip to the Outer Banks.
She was excited for the wonderful AirBnb condo that she and her boyfriend booked. It had a beautiful ocean view and they couldn’t wait to wake up to the relaxing sounds of the waves rolling in.
When they arrived there, they abruptly learned that this beautiful condo was on the 4th floor…and there was no elevator.
Thankfully, over the past year, she has built her endurance through cardio designed for her, she has gotten stronger in her step-ups, has strengthened her legs, and has worked on her upper body strength.
She was able to do the steps and not just that, she carried her own suitcase up the steps. While down there, she also ventured out to see Jockey’s Ridge, the awesome sand dunes in the Outer Banks, which requires some endurance and stability to truly get out there and enjoy.
More than just “fit for vacation,” she is able to pick up her granddaughter better, she can get down on the floor to play with her and get back up easier, and she is fit for the work in her garden where she enjoys growing prize-winning pumpkins.
What do you want to be able to do at 72 and beyond?
It often begins with what you do today.
The best part: it’s never too late to start. She has exercised off and on for a number of years, and has worked out consistently three days per week for the past year. She rarely misses a day…except if she is on vacation! Even then, she strives to get in her three days for the week before she goes away.
While the time you devote to fitness does take 30-60 minutes out of your day a few days per week…what it can add to your life is immeasurable.
We specialize in personalized fitness and are here to meet you where you are at, no matter your age or ability.
The consultation is FREE. We just ask you to show up and we take care of the rest : )
