Avoiding having your picture taken?

People may not mention this, but it can be noticed: a reluctance to have their picture taken.

For some, the thing that prompts them to make an appointment, is because they saw themselves in a picture, they didn’t like what they saw, and they knew they had to do something.

For others, they are already uncomfortable and do what they can to avoid having their picture taken.

One of the saddest things I see: Moms not taking pictures with their children.

Here’s the thing: take the picture regardless. Some day, it will be all your kids have to look back on when you are no longer with them. At that moment, they are happy (I hope!) and living for the moment and aren’t picking apart your appearance in the way that you are. They just love that moment with you.

Truthfully, deeper within an objective goal of “I want to lose 20 pounds” is really the feeling of “I want to not dislike having my picture taken” or avoidance of some other discomfort or lack of confidence in some way.

Confidence comes from more than a number on the scale. It is a feeling.

We love helping people experience and having that feeling.

It doesn’t come from slaving away on a treadmill.

It doesn’t come cutting carbs or starving yourself in some other way.

It comes from taking focused, measurable action towards your goals.

We offer coaching that fits your life and support that changes your life.

The heaviest weight in the gym isn’t a dumbbell or a barbell, it’s the front door.

Our emphasis to you: just show up and we’ll help you with the rest.

Sincerely,

Your friend in wellness and fitness,
